This 1.5 hour CE presentation is a technician’s guide to understanding this prevalent type of cancer. The presentation will lead technicians down the path of defining what is a mast cell, what is a mast cell tumor, understanding the importance of early detection and diagnosis, surgical excision protocols, and tips on how to interpret histopathology results to provide appropriate continued care. This presentation will also briefly discuss chemotherapy options for patients with mast cell tumors.

Join Dr. Jennifer Wiley, DVM, DACVIM(O) and owner of ACCT for an accredited CE about the causes and predispositions of lymphoma in canine patients and the essential guidelines for diagnosis and testing, including:
  • Cytological evaluation
  • When histopathology may be necessary
  • Differences between flow cytometry and PARR testing
  • The utility of the new IDEXX Cancer Dx testing
Furthermore, Dr. Wiley will discuss the staging tests required for dogs diagnosed with lymphoma and identify which tests are necessary for treatment in a general practice versus those that may require referral to specialty care. She will also explore the treatment options available in general practice and briefly review additional services offered through referrals to help DVMs aid in client information and decision-making.
